Towards a Perfect Golf Swing

Very often golfers, while trying to maximize power from their golf swing sequence, have to compromise on accuracy. Here is a swing that gives your golf swing speed and accuracy.

The right hand should flick the club-head through the ball under the left forearm and not over it. The club head travels from behind the point of the arm shoulder triangle and moves up to it during impact. When completed correctly, the club head will swing past the point of the triangle after impact without the club face closing. The golfer should be careful not to rotate the left forearm in a rollover type movement. The left palm should be face down after impact. In this action the inner forearm muscle of the right hand and the left outer forearm muscles come into play when the player fully releases the left wrist.

The player can gain additional golf swing speed if the forearms are wound up during the back swing and then unwound during the release sequence. The winding and unwinding of the forearm muscles leads to the better use of the forearm muscles especially the ones that rotate the forearm bones. You can verify this by using your little club to physically see this action. During the completion of the release, the club must have a square club face as it passes through the ball. In an incomplete release, the club head will be left trailing the hands, instead of catching the left arm at impact and passing it after impact. Such shots lose some power and often fall short. The golfer who spends time mastering this better swing and its release will do very well on the course.

Keep your cool

It's no use berating yourself after a bad shot. In 9 cases out of 10 if we lose our cool, a bad shot will be followed by another bad shot. The moment we lose our cool we lose control over our shot and it will tend to get awry. It is better to spend a moment or two thinking about the cause of the error. The golfer must try and fix the error. Indeed being angry is rather a waste of mental energy. Once you are ready, make a few practice swings to get back into play as well as practice the correct golf swing already in your mind. This way we get a better chance of executing the correct swing properly and get back into play.

Good golfers characteristically remember an error made in a previous sequence and make practice swings to iron out the difficulties if any on the ground. This not only leads to a better golf swing but prevents further loss of good cheer on the course.
